For the most part the topics of religion and politics were avoided, but the following questions were raised (not by me) while visiting the family over the holidays:
- Is it right that Chris Matthews is allowed to be biased in favor of Barack Obama?
- Is Barack Obama really the most liberal (recently former) US senator?
- As an IL state senator, did Barack Obama railroad a bill that would have protected babies from murder? In short, is the president elect an avowed baby-killer?
The first question just kinda made me laugh. The second, though I went in defensive mode initially, is really a pointless question for liberals like me. The last turned into a heated debate that went nowhere.
It's going to be an interesting new year.
