Strange that we often have more fear of shadows and boogiemen than of clear and present dangers. True in life, love, and faith."People say, 'Oh, it's dangerous to keep weapons in the home or the workplace.' Well, I say it's better to be hurt by someone you know accidentally, than by a stranger, on purpose."

Jesus, what an idiot. If real-life probabilities and statistics are too tough for him, and he can only handle simple proverbs, I have one to offer: "When your teen is feeling the so-common morbid-adolescent blues, it is better for him not to have a gun handy than to have a gun handy."
And the real crux is this: I want my kids alive, and not dead. period. How could anyone be thinking "He may be dead, but at least it's a consolation that it was friendly fire and not some evil villain..." Jesus, WTF?
Gotcha. :) Dwight is a TV personality that only expresses the sometimes absurd nature of human rationalization. But, I still agree with you. Whether it's guns, roses, or the bible ... we all tend to get all worked-up about the man in black.
